As I spend the evening working on a case study aout Google... after just finishing a previous week's case study on Linux...

I had a brainstorm.....

a Google OS based on Linux's open source and Google money.....

Bye Bye Microsoft.

I swaer it was just three beers - NO CRACK at all!

Well so much for my procrastination time back to the essay.

It's nice to see a few of us aren't on crack. But- swaering is wrong.

An open source OS could work, if it was played just right to get the support of the community as a whole. Although- it wouldn't hurt MS like you would imagine. Look at Firefox as an example. Relatively speaking it has big market share, but MS is still making money.

Google already monitors all my internet searches. I'd be really creeped out if they had control of my OS too. And besides, what could be better than Mac? :)

Oh, we wouldn't switch from the Mac, we would just put Microsoft out of business ;)

Sorry mate, already done....

Goobuntu.

They're downplaying the story - most likely it's one the engineer's little side projects but it does exist.

If Microsoft went out of business that would very bad, even though I don't really like, businesses can basically say lets do the opposite to that of Microsoft and we will be successful.:D

And Microsoft doesn't????
Uh, no they don't. I use Google for my seaches and Apple for my OS. The only thing I use Microsoft for is their mapping service. In my opinion it is better than Google's service.

Also, to add to the discussion is this article. The idea has come up a few times in the past year.
