In my head.
Hi,

i dont know how to put it. But hoping you know what i mean. I have got 3 clips and I want to combine them into one. I dont mean I one to join them so it goes one after another. I want them to be playing in the same "frame" hope it makes sense.

In iMovie preferable.

Like in the very beginning of the movie 127 hours.

Thanks

Not sure you'll be able to do it in iMovie - at least I couldn't find any way to do it. You can do it rather easily in Final Cut Pro, though by simply laying them on the timeline over each other and resizing or cropping the "window" each clip plays in. Not sure if Final Cut Express has the same capability.

You can do the same in FCE. :)

What version of iMovie.

In iMovie 09 you can do this but it would take a bit of work.
- Laydown a black background image first and set the length to minimum length of your videos you want displayed at the same time.
- Drag one of the videos onto that track and choose 'Picture in Picture' when the popup options appear.
- Set the size of that video and position it.
- Export in high quality.
- Import that exported movie into iMovie.
- Start a new project.
- Use that imported movie as a new source in the project.
- Drag one of the other videos onto that track and choose 'Picture in Picture' when the popup options appear.
- ETC...
- Perhaps append to the last project where you added your last video clip.
- Or export one more time to make something you can use in many projects.

As you can see, a more advanced editor is nice to have in this case.

I thought I heard that iMovie 11 can handle more than one Picture-in-Picture at at time for the same time line area. I have not confirmed that.
