Hey there,

I tried to do an import from my old MB to my new MBP (unibody) and i got sooo much of bloat and crap from the old one... that i just reinstalled OSX on the MBP - which has literally saved me gigs.

Here's a problem though:
before I could use 3 fingers on the trackpad to "jump" up and down (the beginning or end) on a webpage... but now i am unable to do that, only left to right (forward/backward) is working

How do i get that old functionality back?

And my second question, after i installed osx you get that "welcome animation" which basically says "welcome" in a lot of languages... how do i get that to play again? its pretty cool and i want to show it to my sis.

Thanks!

Ok, 3 finger top down seems to be working again.. in FF, not in Safari... so i think a mod can delete this thread... would appreciate it if someone told me how to do the welcome screen though...

Thanks!

The 3 finger webpage jump is a Firefox thing. Safari doesn't do that.

As to the welcome movie, you can cause it to play again at next boot, but it requires a terminal command.
Code:
sudo rm /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone

The movie can be dug out of the /System/Library/CoreServices folder, but the video and audio are stored as separate files so it wouldn't have the same effect.

Hey Darth,

Thanks for replying!

Yep, figured out it was a FF thing, very cool of them to think of that, i hope it catches on and becomes standard.

How do i do this:
Code:
sudo rm /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone

am kinda new to all things Apple..

Open up the program titled "Terminal" from the Applications/Utilities folder and type/paste that command.

BTW Bill, how are things now that you are away from Microsoft?:D
Ohh! Almost forgot, Vista sucks.

Oh crap!
It asking me to enter all that setup information from the beginning... i just wanted the animation :(

Do i have to enter all that info or can i just shutdown?
