3 finger tap preview in Finder suddenly changed behavior on my MBP

Notice how certain files now load a series of panes (captures) in a left column within the video player?

This is after 3 finger tapping the .mp4 files to preview them.

What's up with this and how can I remove the panel on the left? Damn Apple with their hidden options.
