You're missing the bigger point: the other two Cinema Displays are gone completely. I know I saw them there right after the update earlier today, so it looks like they've been discontinued.

Does this have anything to do with the 30" LED Cinema?

Was there any news at the recent Apple event about the fabled 30" LED Cinema?

www.apple.com/displays/cinema/

Where is it?
The only way to view specs of the 30" ACD is by visiting the Store.

The page wasn't there since they introduced the 24" LED Cinema Display.
You're not reading the whole page. Look down on the same page:

Is it possible to get any other monitor these days with a refresh rate as slow as the ACD ? It should be in the Smithsonian.

The page has just been taken down.

The page existed up until yesterday, apparently. It was there after the release of the 24" and even after the discontinuation of the 20".

Of course, the page still listed the 20" and 23" as models, but it was there.

This LED display is trash and needs to go, bring out a new line of DVI monitors already and stop playing games with us.

It's like these engineers/designers don't know whether or not they want to be a laptop only company. The whole "monitor for macbooks because we are too lazy to make an innovative docking station" thing is getting old fast. I will be god damned if i'm going to buy a display with a proprietary cable in 2009.

You do know that their entire line-up can now connect to the 24" LED Cinema display right ? It's not just for the laptops anymore.

This is probably a good thing. Many people went through like 3-4 of these before finding a perfect one or just giving up and keeping one with minor defects. Maybe the quality will go up with better sales volume.

this is forward processing and forward thinking technology. Display Port has a greater ability for higher resolutions and better bandwidth for high-resolution images, so you wont get huge latency if you have alonger cabling.

while were in the midst of an adjustment most of the major manufactures are adopting this...not just apple. no qualms with it just yet.

i'd like to see the clarity and the better response time in a 30" LED display...not really looking forward to the price :p

DP isnt even proprietary its completely open market standard technology that VESA is adopting and adapting to.
theres no going back from here =)
