If a person were to compare the new iPods with the 30 Gig iPod that was just phased out, would one find any differences other than the size of the HD? _Do the new iPods come with anything new or different?

I was looking into getting one of the new 20 Gig iPods and found that I could get a pretty sweet deal on a 30 Gig model, since it is phased out.

I'm just wondering if I would miss out on anything by getting the 30 and not the newer 20 Gig iPod.

Appreciate your help.

Nothing has changed. However, look closely at the 20 vs 30.

The old line had 10/15/30 GB models. The 10 and 15 were 4.1 by 2.4 by 0.62 inches and the 30 was 4.1 by 2.4 by 0.73 inches. The 30 GB also weighed more.

With the introduction of the 20 GB and 40GB, nothing has changed besides HD size. The 20 basically replaced the 15, and the 40 replaced the 30. There is no difference other than size between 15/20, and 30/40.

However, there is a difference between 40/20 just as there was a difference between 30/15. Using a little logic, you can see that the 30 GB is both thicker and heavier than the new 20 GB model.

Good Luck.

man, you talk as if it is a pound heavier and 10 inches thicker. i have a 30GB and could not possibly imagine it being any smaller, it is so freaking tiny, the difference in size and weight is virtually non existent
