I'm sure this is an ancient topic, and most people have moved on by now.
But I'm wondering if anyone knows of a reliable source for a 30-pin to lighting connector?
I've got an older car (Infiniti) which has a dedicated cable to connect to old 30-pin iPods and iPhones.
However, the last of my ancient 30-pin products are close to dying, so hoping to find a way to hook up any of my Lighting-generation iPhones. I realize, they may not be able to charge with the cable converter, but as long as I can get music transferred, I'd be quite a happy person.

Thanks!

my suggestion would be to look for a 30pin to bluetooth device, that way any modern bluetooth source could connect to your cars audio system wirelessly.

plus in (some number) of years from now youll be posting again looking for a usb-c to lightning solution to hook up to your lightning to 30pin situation! hah

Yeah, thanks. I was actually going to add another edit, that I'm familiar with that product - I think they've changed their name on Amazon. I've considered that, and may still, but at least in the past I had read some questionable reviews of the gadget. Hence, why I was sort of hoping for a wired / converter solution. But like you said, Bluetooth will outlive Lighting...

I would think that your current 30 pin cable is an USB cable connected to the back of your car's receiver. Pull the receiver to get to the back of it, disconnect the old 30 pin cable and replace it with an USB A to lightening cable.

Maybe so, but it's highly unlikely that I'm going to go tearing apart the center console, to find out. Ultimately, my preference will be to find a minimally invasive solution, at the connection point to the phone.

Maybe not.

I installed a similar setup in a previous car and it had a custom 30-pin male cable (plus a splitter/control box, custom harness to handle existing cabling that all ran eventually into the stock connector in the back of the stock head unit).

If you know the company that this setup came from, they might still be in business.

But otherwise, pretty much out of luck these days. Can root around thrift stores to see if anyone might have one.

Per Apple's MFi webpage, not many companies left that make 30-pin anything. Might have some luck searching for those company names.
