I did some searching on this, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I have a couple of the ipod 30 pin cables, and one of them is fraying. It seems like based on the apple care agreement this would be covered for a replacement, but I'm not totally sure. Just seeing if anyone has a definite answer before I go down to the store.

Yes, according to http://www.apple.com/support/products/iphone.html it should be covered. And I am going to go do the same thing also because mine has also frayed.
