Hi there,

I recently developed a site for a business which is owned by a friend of mine and was wondering if you could all just spend 30 seconds checking something for me. Here's what to do:
1) Visit www.sneakybeakyadventures.com
2) Scroll down to the main text of that page which starts with 'Sneaky Beaky Adventures..'
3) Pay attention to the fading images next to this block of text.
4) After 14 images show, the 15th image should be a car bonnet with desert like hills in the background. (it doesn't take long to get to it)

That's it. I just need you to confirm that a picture of a car bonnet and desert like hills in the background shows up at any time through the slideshow.

Would be great to get as many replies as possible.

Thanks :)

Works for me

Not really sure what a car bonnet is. I did see a desert, but there was no car in the pic, or do you mean two separate pics with those things? Oh, and I saw nothing when I arrived with JavaScript disabled ;)

That's because the fading images are javascript... A car bonnet is the lid over the engine and components of a vehicle (or as I have recently learnt, a hood :p). This is the image:

Thanks for your replies guys :)

It's British-English for hood.

If this is the image, then I saw it.

EDIT: looks like you posted the picture while I was watching the animation. I swear I wasn't trying to be repetitive...

I see it, though while waiting I kept wanting to stab my monitor on account of that marquee scrolling by underneath. Would be a decent page were it not for that.

Also: Have an MG in the family for a while, you'll get used to British car terms even if you're in the US. If memory serves it's particularly confusing since hood and bonnet are reversed in the two terminologies.

I know, I've created similar slide shows myself, I was just giving you a hard time. I thought the bonnet might be similar to a car bra, but I but I guess you learn something new every day. I did see the car bonnet by the way.

It's not really my choice what goes on the page. My friend wanted it and so I had to put it on. Sorry :(

Agreed... the scrolling marquee was a bit distracting to me as well
I never wanted to stab my monitor ;)
But it was a little annoying in my opinion
You might want to find another way to present that material
Just a thought

Cause you asked for maximum replies, I will reply. Yes, the image shows up and looks very nice. The whole site looks good However, I have to jump on the anti-scrolling text bandwagon; that part is not working for ya. :)

Hi!

Nice website, yeah it works here too!

Hey, I am pretty much a beginner but I would like to learn how you made that text moving??? ( I use dreamweaver, but haven´t found an application doing that...

Greetings!

Thanks a lot everybody - I needed as many replies as possible because my friend told me that he had asked in the region of 10 people. But, I'm pretty sure it's working for everybody so I'm not going to be looking into the issue any further. I'll have a talk with him - see if he wants rid of the marquee.

@the guy was was a beginner, you can create a marquee using HTML. Simple wrap <marquee> and </marquee> around your text, for example...
HTML:
<marquee>Hello scrolling text can be a big distraction on web pages and so it's best not to use one unless you really have to.</marquee>

If you type <marquee speed="x"> and replace the x value as any integer, that should also make it go faster or slower.

Just an update, I spoke to my friend and he decided that it was best to remove the marquee... thank god!
