Hey y'all

I'm currently running at native 4k res on my 32" lg monitor, it looks great and things aren't small for me. I went to the apple store, and saw the xdr which was running 3008x1692 and wanted to try this. I can try switchresx and can get it on there, but it doesn't look crisp clear?

Would this guide work:

I am currently running hdmi > hdmi as I didn't want to lose out on a usb c port

Can't comment on that guide but...

That's 6K/2 and retina scaling rescales the UI applying the extra pixels. The fact that you can rig it to a specific resolution doesn't mean the retina scaling engine knows how to apply it to the UI so not a stretch to think it won't look right.

I am in a similar boat, I just got an M1 mini and am running dual 32" 4k Samsungs. The only way to run dual monitor as far as I know is one over HDMI and one on the thunderbolt 3 to DP on the monitor. I hooked everything up and it all worked perfectly for a couple days. Both monitors allowed me to select 3008x1692, it all seemed too easy. Now the HDMI monitor decided to only allow 1440 or 4k and I lost the in-between option 3008x1692! It was perfect, not too small, not too large, just right! How can I force it to come back natively so it is crisp? It was clearly working, but then taken away from me!

Does anyone know if there is any way to force my M1 mini to allow a scaled 3008x1692 where I know it was possible since it was working for a couple days, but it's no longer giving me the option? I wonder if it could be my HDMI cable? Currently running Monterey.

Not on the monitor hooked to HDMI, just the one attached to Thunderbolt. Initially it was there and worked on both for a couple days. I just ordered a new HDMI cable with the highest specs I could find. I'll see if that changes anything before being forced to reduce my res with Switchresx or similar. I'd like to keep my ability to play 4k on both monitors in full res.
