i keep geting 3014 error im trying to upgrade to 4.0.1 i think i did the host thinks right anybody know what the 3014

Make sure this line is in your hosts file:
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

You might not have SHSH on file, if thats the case, wait until 4.1jb. Should be soon.

Just a question more out of curiousity then neccesity, how do you edit your itunes host file? im assuming thats what youre talking about. I found a site that showed what file its in but I cant seem to locate it.

It isnt your itunes file. You edit your operating systems hosts file. For windows the file is located in windows\system32\drivers\etc\

Google it for mac
