Black Macbook 2.0ghz for $1099?

I hope you jumped on this already. Earlier this evening these were listed as in stock, but now they show as shipping in 4-6 weeks. Looks like they're just about gone if they aren't already.

It's a fabulous deal considering it's $300 off what they cost just yesterday, and today's update sure didn't add $300 worth of value above this model.
 
yep, sadly I missed out on the deal as well. $1099 would have been a really really sweet price for that blackbook. I bet people were buying them left and right, it's posted on all the major deal sites.
 
^ Nope. I just bought one. I placed one in my cart a few days ago and never bought it. Well I just checked and it was still sitting there with a reduced price of $1199. Still a great deal. I just saved myself $300!

I am a very happy camper right now.

btw I just got a confirmation email with the estimated shipping dates. It appears I'll be getting it sooner than 4-6 weeks.

Shipping estimate for these items: May 22, 2007 - May 23, 2007
Delivery estimate: May 24, 2007 - May 29, 2007
 
I just placed my order for the blackbook. 4-6 weeks til it gets here though :( Oh well...for $1099 I'm not complaining.
 
I jumped on it. Shipping date says June 14th - 28th. They don't bill until the item ships, so I'm going to see if I can find any better deals. I bet Apple will be discounting the old ones in their store similarly. I've heard $300 off is the norm. Can anyone verify that?
 
Another question: Is it worth it to wait until June 14th for a $1099 Older Macbook? It almost seems worth it to go down to the Apple Store and pick up a new one with my education discount. What do you guys think?

Also, a rep from the Apple store told me when I called that they're sending back all of the "old" Macbooks for a refresh. They won't be having any deals on those. Anyone else gotten this yet?
 
macmall is selling the same blackbook for 1199 right now. Just thought i'd point that out to someone looking. Your upfront cost is the same, but no mail in rebate. Still a fantastic price.
 
I want my black Macbook now! I ordered it Tuesday, and the estimated delivery date is apparently the 24th-29th. They still haven't shipped it. I ordered a wireless router at the same time and it has already been shipped.

This waiting is going to make me crazy!
 
for those of you that missed the Amazon deal, if you're lucky you can catch the same model in the Apple refurb section for $1049. not brand new, but still a great price.
 
What is everyone's status on this on Amazon for those who got in on it? I read on another forum that some of the orders that were scheduled to ship this week were pushed back to around July. Has anyone got theirs to ship yet or have received it? Mine is scheduled to ship tomorrow and I'm really hoping that doesn't get pushed back. ***crossing my fingers***
 
Just got my official refurb blackbook for 1189 Canadian, it was 1469 last week so I'm more than happy. I love small updates, because the last gen gets a lot cheaper :)
