I'm assuming it'll turn itself off when it's in your pocket etc. due to the proximity sensor, but what about when you just leave it somewhere or drop it into a bag - how do you actually turn the iphone on/off to get to the "unlock" screen? Because obviously the display won't be on all the time, it wasn't when Steve got his out of his pocket at the All Things Digital thing, and if touching the screen or the home button turned on the screen, then accidental presses (especially if in your pocket) would be wasting the battery constantly!
I wonder how the screen is actually turned on?
And on another note, I really hope Apple include an icon or something on the main unlock screen (or even better, a hardware LED on the phone itself) so you can instantly see when you've got a missed call, or a new SMS/email, without having to turn the device on. All (well, most) Pocket PCs and indeed standard phones do this, so hopefully Apple won't omit it?
