New imac making popping noises, please help

So I did the latest update for my imac today and for some reason I am getting a popping noise on my imac. it kind of sounds like when the mac shuts down or goes to sleep and it makes that little noise, im sure you guys know what im talking about.

it does it on its on every now and again or when im doing stuff on the machine.

i tried to do a restart, still happens
i tried to do a shutdown, and start up, still happens

has anyone else had this issue? if so, what can i do to resolve it?

keep inmind i never had this issue in the past, i have had this machine for about 5 months

I have heard of this happening to other people, is the sound coming from your speakers?

i dont think so, i use the jbl creatures, i can try to unplug them and replug them.

i ended up fixing the problem

what i did was went into the master volume set it to the highest level and i am now controlling the volume through the external speakers

no issues since
