hotmail in OSX Mail

Although it's only a small amount of mail, I do still get a few e-mails from my old hotmail account. Can I access that account from OSX Mail???

If so, how??

There's a plug-in you can install which should allow you to do this.


Sometimes a little unstable, but I've been using it for a year or two, and has been pretty reliable overall.

Like bigiffo said, you'll need a hotmail plus account for httpmail. These are my settings for it.


username is your username WITHOUT @hotmail.com
the incoming mail server is hotmail.com
the outgoing mail server is services.msn.com
the outgoing server port is 25
Authenitcationis none
The httpmail url is http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp

I just downloaded it, unzipped it and ran it, and it worked.

I made sure that I set OSX Mail like this:

the incoming mail server is hotmail.com
the outgoing mail server is services.msn.com
the outgoing server port is 25

And I used this work around too:

You will need a Hotmail Plus account but this website has a workaround
http://www.freepops.org/en/

I downloaded a file there and loaded it on. Didn't put it anywhere in particular, just ran it.

Be careful with using your online account on your mail because i used gmail on Mail and once i sended a message and it never arrived and in did get a little in trouble...

i just used the plug-in httpmail to use my hotmail.com e-mail account in mac mail and was surprised to find it worked! i tried to do the same thing with my hotmail.co.uk account and for some reason it imported the e-mails from the hotmail.com account.

I opened them seperately and they obviously are seperate account, i don't understand whats happened, do i need a seperate plug-in?

I don't get this program, once i unzip it, and i double click on it, it simply turns on...

than do i just enter my hotmail information in regular under POP in Mail OSX?

I had the Hotmail plug in before till today something went NUTS with my email and it's now gone.

Reloading is preventing me from opening/closing 'mail' and I can only close it with a force quit. Did something happen to this plug in or does anyone know what my problem is or where I can get any support for this?
