32 GB iPad available storage on arrival?

I got a 32 GB iPad last Saturday. When I was activating the iPad, I noticed that the avialble storage was a little over 29 GB (I had not synced any applications/media at that time).

Is this normal? Can anyone who bought a 32 GB model confirm? How much space does iPhone OS 3.2 take up?

Normal, with the 8GB iPhone, it uses .8GB to do this

So for 32GB, it will use 3.2GB, or less. It is perfectly normal, but does suck!
