Hi all, first thread here on macrumors.

I have a Macpro early 2009 quad 2,66 / 6gb Ram

I have 3 different hard drive, all 3 are Seagate.

Actually I had 2 lacie USB external harddrive that I just opened and pluged in the free bays inside my mac pro... happily they work perfectly with the MacPro, so I don't have these 2 blackboxes on my table.

But I'm wondering wich is the best to install my system on one partition and some audio data such as sample libraries for logic, ableton live and reason 4 on a second partition. These two partitions would be together about 280giga.

Seagate 320giga - 7200rpm - 3 years old (from one of the external lacie)

Seagate 1Tera - 5900rpm - 2 years old (from the other external lacie)

Seagate 2Tera - 5400rpm - 1 year old

Thanks

7,200.

You want your boot/app drive to be as fast as possible (which is why so many people are moving to small SSDs for the boot).

Are they both 3.5"? It's hard to say because at least I don't know the specs of them but 320GB is likely single platter and it's 7200rpm so I give my vote for it
