New OS update for SR fixed my yellow screen issues.

This may back up my assertion that in some of the cases, of a yellow tint, the problem has been an incorrectly set colour profile. What is odd about this is I don't see an OS update affecting that specifically unless there was a change to some aspect of the screen controllers.
(Total speculation there)
However it happened though I'm happy that your screen is now working the way that you want it to.

Had a macbook pro with that issue. But the software update didn't fix anything. Send it in today.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but yesterday's MPB software update didn't include an updated screen calibration profile or anything beyond the Nvidia 8-series driver and OpenGL update. If it looks better, though, then great. The placebo effect works wonders for some people.
Even if Apple tried, there is no way they could fix an obvious hardware issue (the yellow tint on part or all of the lower part of the screen) with a software update. the only thing they can fix are the displays that are yellowish throughout - by making a new default colorsync profile.

I'm pretty sure they did, I have been using a profile that was posted on the forum that worrked fine but black to gray gradients were really bad and the default profile was yellowish, after the latest update the default profile is now dated as 29th and is now a more crisp white and black to gray gradients are so much more smoother, check it out yourself by opening front row with a different profile.

Actually, the default Color LCD profile does get regenerated after installing yesterday's update. There's no actual file in the bundle, so the update process itself must be responsible.
That's definitely odd. My default profile didn't get updated, and even if it would have I made a copy before the update to verify changes via md5 checksum. I suppose the installer might modify it only if you had a certain screen model that needed it...
I don't suppose one of you could upload this modified profile?
Attached. I don't know if the contents of the file are actually different from the old one or if it was just regenerated/touched. What I do know is that the file's timestamp changed to Jun 28 03:41 after I installed the update last night.
In any case, it still looks too green/yellow to me. The profile from my Eye-One Display 2 is much better. I have the 9C67 LG panel (matte).
I've got a 9C68 LG glossy panel, so it was manufactured the week after yours, and I haven't had any problems with yellowing or other screen defects. I'd try that profile if I could but since our displays are different I can't apparently. Oh well. They are different in terms of color calibration though,
