Hey, gang! I got a new MB and Bluetooth Mighty Mouse back in April. In the last couple of months, it has been giving me some problems. I typically use my MB at work with the MM, then without it at home. In between usage, I just shut the lid to put it to sleep rather than shutting all the way down.
The first problem I noticed is that when I went into work every morning, the MM wasn't automatically recognized and I had to detect it every time. Annoying, but not a show stopper. Then, sometimes the MB would be off when I got to work in the morning. The first couple of times, I thought it might have applied updates and shut down or something. But it did it about a half dozen times in a month and I knew this wasn't the case. Then, the Bluetooth stopped working with my MM. I tried one of my coworkers' MM and it didn't work either, though both worked on his MBP. The Bluetooth dialog also took a long time to do anything -- several minutes to come up, for example.
I reset the PRAM and the MM went back to working, was detected every morning, and I had no shutdown problems. For a couple of days. Then it was displaying the same symptoms, not automatically recognizing the MM after a sleep and being off every morning.
I did some testing with this and found that at night when I close the lid, the machine didn't go to sleep at all and stayed on. The battery was dying and that is why it was off every morning. This also means that the automatic sleep (set at 30 minutes) isn't working. I was also not able to shut down the MB at night, it just hangs at a blue screen with a rotating circle. After uninstalling a ton of stuff, thinking that might be the problem, I finally decided to just disable the Bluetooth and see if that solved the problem. I'm going on 2 weeks now with no issues.
Is anybody else having this problem? After reading some stuff on the Internets, it looks like there were some issues with this that were fixed by a firmware upgrade or patch. But I already have that installed.
Thanks in advance!
