Seems like everywhere is selling 32gb ram kit for around $330. It use to be much cheaper, around $280, does anyone know of a place I can get reliable 32GB ram kit for my iMac for a good price?

This says 8GBx2. For a total of 16GB. I thought the iMac has a total of 2 slots only? I wanted 32GB.

iMac has 4 slots.....

Now my question honestly here is does anyone know if the faster timing speeds on the RAM actually matter?

I think I upgraded my RAM in my 2012 iMac to 24GBs around 1+ year ago and I wonder if a faster timing RAM would give me any boost in performance?

Thanks

I bought two 16GB kits for my iMac (late 2012 model) from Crucial in early December 2012 . . . . . before everyone realized they were leaving a huge pile of money on the table and jacked the price matrix by two.

Paid ~ $170 USD for that 32GB goodness.

Lucky. I wound up paying $370 for mine after shipping, taxes and handling. Bought direct from crucial and shipped to Canada; all the alternatives I could find were closer to $100/stick, or were 1.5v, which I've heard mixed things about.
