Hard Drive and Silica Balls

Hi there,

I just bought a 150GB Raptor Hard Drive to use as the OS drive with my Mac Pro. When I looked at the bag (the sealed anti static bag) I saw the Silica Ball Packet inside was ripped open and Silica balls were all around.

I was wondering... Should I worry they might have damaged something. Aren't the drives pretty much sealed and such. These balls are also getting under the circuit board and rubbing against the top of it. Could that do any damage?

I wouldn't worry the drives are sealed. Just make sure none of the balls have become stuck to the circuit underneath the drive.

It'll be fine though, the advantages of using silica balls and not powder
