changing wmv audio files into itunes playable files

you meant wma?
if so then you can convert them to mp3 by itunes..
if you meant wmv movie files...you can do it perfectly by VisualHub.

YES you can convert WMA files to MP3s using iTUNES!
Go to File then inport your song, once you see it on your iTUNES play list right click (if using 3rd party mouse) on the song and you should see the menu option that allows you to cenvert into MP3 if you do not see this then you need to change that setting in the Preference option under Advance.
After that's done convert to your heart's content!!!

Can iTunes convert .wma?
Way back in iTunes 4 the Mac version couldn't do anything with wma but the windows version could (probably a licensing issue).
It used to not be possible... maybe because Windows iTunes uses Windows Media components to make it happen, perhaps just because of MS/Apple pissyness... There are programs like MusicMan and EasyWMA that do it on OS X but I'm not aware of a free one. I'm not sure if you can use Flip4Mac free version to import a WMA into a program that has an "Import via quicktime" feature or not, but if you could, you could certainly save it as pretty much anything else and then convert it easily the rest of the way.

I think that iTUNES has this option hidden due to licencing issues...I guess the prior versions did not required to do the set up in the PREFERENCE option but was there immediatly!!
And I just converted a song in iTUNES/WINDOWS and it works just as well as well as on a Mac!!
