Problem with FIREWIRE and iMovie

I'm calling the cops
I can't seem to get my firewire Mini DV camera to work with my PowerMac G5 that I have had a few years and it always worked before. It just detects it for about a second or not at all. It works on my sister's computer(macbook)


So what's the problem?


(my USB has also been very slow)
