Figured we can start yet another speed testing thread. This version definitly takes longer than the last one to complete!

Downloads can be had here - says for all platforms http://www.maxon.net/pages/download/cinebench_e.html

Was going to test out my old G4 but seeing how long it took to do the new box I put together, I think I will skip it :)

How is the 2.40 almost as fast as the 2.66? Is that over clocked?

He is running the 64bit version of Windows which could make a small difference. Other than that there is not that much difference between the two systems. Both are quad core and 3D rendering is very CPU based.

I'll try it out again on the same computer running Boot Camp, could be a Windows thing.

Interesting.

Just ran exactly the same test on exactly the same computer running Windows XP SP2 using Boot Camp 1.4 and the latest ATI graphics card drivers and the results are significantly worse than running under Mac OS X in the single CPU, multi CPU and the OpenGL test.

Its stock clocked but as someone said, maybe the 64 bit version of Vista is more efficient than the 32 bit versions. Not sure, but I do know my OpenGL in vista is slower so the 3D acceleration part of the test is lower than it should be. Oh well one day they will fix the drivers...I dare to dream.
