34mm USB 3.0 possibility

I have a few older pro laptops and the newer a1229 running El Cap I thought might try to drag into modern times.

So this:

I'm tempted to order the card and try as it is cheap.
There are plug and play SD readers and even slow SSDs that work plug and play.

But usb 3.0 would be useful.

What your thoughts mac community?

I think you've got about as much chance of getting that into a MacBook without ruining it as flying to the moon.

I also think that if you need a USB 3.0 Mac you can pick up a second hand 2012 one for a few hundred dollars.

Don't need it but would be nice.
I like to tinker and learn about the OS and stuff.

I keep a TM backup if all fails.
In UK mac prices have shot up drastically.

E.g. 3-4 months ago a 2010 13" pro was about £150-200 on ebay, now they are more like £250-300 plus for a good all working one.

Not end of world but though might be nice try get it to work.
Yes I know it an ancient pro but just seems to keep on going!
Love the older build quality!
