Aye, 16Gig Touch + New Universal Dock. 28th. Bah!
Dock doesn't have a date like the iPod. That just says 3-4 weeks.

Ive got shipped on sept 28th and delivered on either the 1st or 2nd of october! wish it was coming today to be honest!

According to my order confirmation email from the Apple UK store;
My 8gig ipod touch will be shipped on or before 11 Sep, 2007.
& It will be delivered on or before 12 Sep, 2007 - 13 Sep, 2007.
I know they are estimated lead-times only but I hope they're accurate!

but I rang up the Apple Australia/NZ online store and they said they're expecting them in 3-5 days. Maybe 28th is just the latest date and optimistically I'll get it earlier?

Lol! yeah - I dunno though. I can't get my hopes up, they may have got it wrong - I'm expecting it at the end of the month but hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Just wondering if any other UK buyers have a similar dispatch date?

Thats happened to me twice with Apple Australia. Keep a close eye on your email for updated shipping info. And get a widget to help track it.

I did order it at about 3AM though! (as soon as the option was available) May have something to do with the early shipping.

Looks like the 8 gig will be available a while before the 16, in the UK anyway.
Managed to order mine by about 9pm after a few fights with the Apple Store and I'm not getting it any earlier.

Why exactly are the UK ones shipping weeks earlier than the US? No offense, but can't be right - one part of
or the other must have wrong info. FYI, I ordered mine as soon as the Apple Store was back up - about 3:04 PM EDT - and have "ships by Sep. 28." Guess that "by" is the key.
Maybe its because Apple usually craps on everyone not in the US, and thought they'd give us Europeans something back.

Hoping my 8GB Touch gets here mid month too.
Just ordered my 16GB touch and it says it is shipping by October 5th, delivered by the 10th. Selected the 2-3 day shipping option. I realllly hope it comes sooner as I will be on the road like 3 days earlier, and I so badly want to take it along.

i would like to know this too. but thats a pretty big flaw...if its right...either way around....thats a couple weeks difference. i really hope they ship sooner. if anyones shipping status changes please post it up here...i have yet to order mine yet. just trying to decide. but yeah if anybodys shipping status changes in the u.s. please post!
