Httpmail for Leopard

I have this problem...

did you ever use httpmail before?
Hotmail has a restriction on this service for paying customers or really old customers who started to use this type of service before they bought the charge in.
i read in another thread they will be rolling out pop support to the free accounts some time in the future. So you can either pay for the service or you can wait until the pop support is released.

This is my first time using Httpmail. I'm a mac newbie. But I've had this Hotmail account since 2001. :S
Can't make changes to hotmail inbox
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I just bought my first mac two weeks ago, switched from Windows.
I downloaded httpmail for Leopard. It works just fine, except that I can't make any changes to the hotmail inbox. It is marked as read-only. It doesn't allow me to delete or mark as read, even after I've changed to "Sync with server" advanced option.
I also bought Office 2004. Entourage works fine for hotmail, but I want to use Mail for my hotmail account.

guess it's tough luck with my account... really annoying actually because I have to use Firefox to check that Live Mail account, it doesn't work too well with Safari and it eats up tons of my rams every time I log onto its website. ahh thanks to Microsoft

you can move mail to folders either, so it seems that this release of httpmail is only good for checking mail!!
Dame you HOTMAIL!!!! and whats the most iritating is that Leopard has some really cool features in Mail which we wont be able to use with hotmail!!!!

do have any idea when this maybe fixed in an update? why are microsoft so anal about progressing computing & networking comunities..... its very ironic...

re: microsoft, this is an unoffical plugin which apple actually broke. However we shouldn't even need a plugin but it is a way of MS making money. I have heard that in the future they will add POP support for hotmail which would be very welcome.

the problem is that you HAVE to have a Plus account (hotmail), that's stupid, cause i won't pay to have an email...
is there any httpmail plug-in that doesn't require the hotmail plus account ?!
now, i'm using "macfreepops"..but i have to run the app everytime i want to check the e-mail :s

If it makes you feel any better, Windows Mail doesn't work with hotmail either, you need to download a separate mail client.
