"Learn to type" Programs for OS X?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to get a program for my mom so she can learn how to type, anybody have recommendations as far as that goes?

She's barely touched a computer in her life and I'm desperate for her to learn how to type and get used to everything.

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing.

Works for Mac and Windows. I haven't tried it with Leopard but I'm sure it works fine. There are also lots of free internet typing programs but I found the 20 bucks to be well worth it.

I used MasterKey to learn Dvoark and it does Qwerty to.

Works in Leopard.

Mavis Beacon is a classic.

I learned how to type with that program back in the performa days.

World of Warcraft. I'm seriously not joking. After playing MMOs for a few years touch typing is second nature.

Probably not a great solution given the situation but for anyone searching .

I wonder if there are any websites dedicated to learning to type.

pay attention that there are actually two different versions of Mavis Beacon exist: from Broderbund and from MacKiev. The first one is 10 bucks cheaper but the latter does worth extra money. Here are the links:

How about an online one?

The BBC have a free one that seems to be pretty much universally liked.

It's aimed at young children but that shouldn't really be a problem. I've had a go on it myself a few times but need to put a bit more effort in to become a touch-typist.
