Screens that use 3D Touch are more expensive to manufacture. Since the XR is a "budget phone" they got rid of it to save money.
 
iOS 13 brings nearly all the functionality back as haptic touch. Also to note 3D touch is going away. All future iPhones will use haptic touch also.
 
Did you not read that the XR didn’t have 3D Touch? Pretty much every video / review of it mentions this.

This really doesn’t warrant a thread, there’s tons of information on this and other threads already in progress. But for the sake of entertaining your question, the XR _never_ included 3D Touch, which Apple‘s website would easily show you that.

Well then that’s why you’re surprised by this. It’s fairly obvious if you would’ve read atleast two reviews. I’d definitely recommend reading reviews before buying a product, especially one of this price.
