Hey Everyone,

I have a strange issue with my 3G LCD display that I have not been able to find any info on. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue happen to them?

Background: My 3G was in a backpack and was stepped on which resulted in a broken touchscreen but the LCD display itself seemed to be unaffected.

Problem: While in the process of replacing the touchscreen, when I separated the LCD display from the back of the touchscreen's plastic housing assembly I noticed that the LCD had some clearly visible damage (black spots and lines) where as before disassembling the phone none of these black spots/lines were visible and the LCD screen seemed to work fine.

After reassembling the 3G the LCD's screen damage was totally apparent as the screen has lots of white patches and colored lines all across the screen. When the phone is off you can now see some of the black lines on the LCD display through the touchscreen. I was expecting the LCD to remain in tact because it appeared to be undamaged before I took the phone apart.

Has this happened to anyone else?
