Hiya, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.
I recently upgraded to an iP4 so gave my 3G to my 16 year old son. Within a week of him having it he managed to drop it whilst switched off. It was only dropped a couple of feet onto a soft carpeted floor.
Anyway, since then, the phone can't find it's carrier for more than a few seconds. It's on O2 in the UK.
I have tried removing the sim card and when I put it back in and re start the phone it will find O2 but with very low signal. As soon as the phone is moved slightly it then loses the signal and sits at 'searching' all the time.
Could the antenna have been damaged from such a small drop? If so, is this an easy/cheap fix or should he just resign himself to having the 3G as a Touch from now on?
Thanks for any help.
