3G Data Signal but cant make or receive calls

Hi guys and gals
this is quite strange, i dont have any signal to make or receive calls but i do have 3G data signal. i have an iphone 3gs jb on 4.0.1
please help

A few obvious things to do first: turn on airplane mode, then turn it off. If that doesn't work, restart your iPhone. Contact your carrier to make sure they haven't cut off your service.

If you're still having issues, try removing individual applications that might affect your connection (MyWi, TetherMe, etc).
