3G/Edge IP Address in Boss Prefs

In the Boss Prefs, I see the IP Addresses for 3G and Edge. I haven't tried this, but can you actually ssh to those IP addresses? The reason I don't want to try is that I don't want the AT&T network to alert that there was a 'invalid' attempt to communicate with my iPhone.
