3G Friday-Keep your wits about you from Thieves

I am sure all the people who will be descending on the Apple and Best Buy stores friday for their 3G iPads already remember the poor man who got his finger ripped off from a thief, so BE EXTRA CAREFUL!

Thieves might be eyeing those walking out with iPads so I recommend putting it in a shopping bag that is not from Apple or Best Buy. Anyway, use common sense and get your iPad home (and yourself) safe! :)
 
That is one heck of a good point, especially now that everybody's been given the idea by the first crook. :)

I bought my WiFi the second day, and while I was walking to my car, I kept thinking I looked awfully conspicuous with that big white bag....

If you have any distance to travel to a secure location (car, etc.), I'd put the white bag inside something else, as Claire says!
 
Apple should start handing paper brown bags....

like when you buy malt liquor, just say you bought a 6-pack! and conceal it!

or a black bag.:D:D:D
 
Maybe a good idea to bring another bag to put it in.

I always felt uncomfortable with those bags.

I also feel nervous for people I see walking on city streets with them.

"Apple" thieves have been a problem for a few years now, especially in California. Many Macbooks have been stolen over the last few years in the manner similar to what happened to that iPad guy.
 
Go with at least one other friend. Be alert and ready to fight. If someone even looks at your iPad wrong, strike first and ask questions later.

Or give it to them and call the cops. Not worth losing your life or any body parts over - just don't wrap the cord around your fingers.

Or bring 10 friends and walk apart from one another. If anyone gets into trouble, all 10 gather and beat the thief to a pulp, and run off with HIS wallet.

Bring an apple. After you beat the thief unconscious, stick the apple in his mouth and leave him on the street as a public example.
