3G Home Button Installation Help

Hi, I'm about to attempt a home button installation. I'm really confused though. I see people telling me to solder things. I just dont understand what I have to solder. It seems like the ribbon just slides in and sticks to the back of the frame that holds the touchscreen and the glass. Has anyone attempted this? When i say "sticking" it was just glued down it didnt seem to be stuck to anything.
