In 3G mode, my battery is now lucky to last from ~8am till ~noon.

Seriously pathetic and almost to the point of a useless mobile device

I tried literally 50 or so fix attempts to no avail, and lastly i decided to disable cell service altogether and just use WIFI.

When doing this my battery lasts like it used to before 4.3. A full 8 hour workday.

Apple really needs to get their heads out of their azz with this one. It is so obvious that something is up with the way their device handles 3G and possibly edge its not even funny.

i deserve a refund for my cell service since 4.3!

Obviously it's a problem with your phone or a background app, and not to all iPhones. Since yours is less than a year old, you can easily get it exchanged for a brand new one. It'll take only 15 minutes at an apple store, or you can have it mailed to you if you don't have one nearby.

You could also be in an area with a weak signal causing the phone to constantly search for a good connection.
