3G internet not picking up on 3GS-help!

I got my 3GS a few months ago. Over the past 2 weeks my 3G internet has not kicked in and my internet has been snail slow. I have tried to find a 3G setting or something on there but don't know if there is a problem with my phone or if a setting got changed without my knowledge keeping the 3G internet from working...has anybody had a similar problem? :confused:
 
Go to Settings>General>Network and see if 3G is on.

If so, try going to a different area and seeing if it works there as it may be a signal problem.
