3g iphone not working

i have had my brothers iphone 3g i did a reset on to delete contact of if and now the phone not working all i`m getting on it is the apple pic on it .can any one tell me how i can fix this problem many thank

Start by holding down sleep and home at the same time for a few seconds.

If it doesn't boot up, restore the iPhone in iTunes.
