i need a new phone and i have considered the possibility of getting an iPhone and then unlocking so it will work with T-Mobile.

1. what is 3G?

2. i have been researching the iPhone with T-Mobile and ive seen some articles that say the 3G iPhone is going to be available for T-Mobile as well. is this true?

if so then...

1. when will it come out?

if not then...

3. how easy is it to set up your iPhone to work with a different provider other than AT&T? ie T-Mobile?

Thanks so much. I eagerly await your replies.:D

if someone from the US was to buy a german iphone do you think it would be possible to use it on t mobile without jailbreaking?

i doubt it, but just a random thought.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 8gb: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A102 Safari/419.3)

as for #3.

Its very easy with ziphone.

You have to hack the phone. There are applications that automatically do this for you, but it also voids your warranty. So god forbid you drop your phone and crack the screen, you're S-O-L.

ziphone

For #3 just use the latest ziphone software. Very easy and quick!

yeah, I know about ZiPhone. I used it to jailbreak my Touch. My question is how do i set up my T-Mobile account on my iPhone? How do I do this?

jailbreak and unlock it then:-

1) slide off the back cover off your old phone
2) remove your old phone's battery
3) remove the sim card
4) find a paperclip
5) bend it so that it can be used to enter the hole of the iPhones sim tray
6) remove the sim tray from iphone
7) align the beveled edge of the sim card with that of the sim tray
8) carefully put the sim tray back into iPhone
9) bend the paperclip back into its original state
10) give yourself a pat on the back

there is no need to set up your account in anyway... your sim card handles all of it.

NB//
SIM contacts cant be accessed from iPhone so somehow get them onto your computer so can be synced with iPhone

If you want to buy an unlocked iPhone there are places in Canada and France that sell them. I am sure there are many places on the internet that sell them too.
