So if you are not sure (like me) if you're still buying the 3G Iphone when it comes out, what are my other alternatives? (beside of course keeping your old iphone for people who has them, which I don't). Any other good cellphone out there that can go neck to neck w/ iphone or better?

In my opinion no phone comes close to an iPhone, yeah some may have MMS and better cameras and blah blah blah. The user interface, quality of applications ect is worth it 100 times over.

Now that the 3G and GPS issues have been resolved there is NO phone that comes even close - that is if you don't mind the lack of video camera and MMS.

If I had to go for another phone it would prob' be the N95, but I wouldn't, the iPhone wins hands down... go treat yourself ;-)

thanks for all the suggestions and I will check them out. If anybody else has suggestions, please feel free to do so, I'm so anxious to replace my old Samsung TGH-809 phone . If the 3G iphone came out today, I would have bought it right away without thinking but I'm glad they won't come out till next so it will give me time to compare to other phones to see if this 3G iphone is worth it. :D

Nokia N95(or N96 when its launch)
HTC Touch Diamond/Pro(if the UI isn't too slow, we'll see at launch)
BlackBerry Thunder
Sony Ericsson XPERIA

All iPhone like.

BlackBerry Bold look good, although different form factor then the iPhone

Will any of these work with iTunes similar to the way the iPhone interfaces with it? If not, what other media application will sync movies, podcasts, music and PIM stuff similiar to iTunes and works pretty well?

I'm thinking that now we know the new 3G Iphone prices are, maybe if I can get the 2nd gen Iphone for a bargain price (how much do u think?). But even for a bargain price, do you think it's worth it over the new 3G iphone?

Who said the weren't there? We saw a preview, not the finalised spec list. Hopefully...

The only difference between the "old" (2.5G) and new iPhone are 3G and GPS (and price, but that does not count). :D Everything else is the same!
