I upgraded from my current iphone to the all new singing and dancing 16GB 3G version on launch day here in the UK.
I got there early and got my phone which I was most happy about until a few hours latter: The phone locked up and crashed on me after a few hours use, it would ask me for my pass code twice ! then the screen would go all black.
I had to power it off and then on again and then put the passcode in again. I was not able to terminate a calls, the screen would go all black so I had to turn the phone off and on again. If someone hung up before me the screen would also go black, so I never knew if the call had ended.
Anyway I got this phone replaced by o2 after about 15 days of waiting which I picked up just yesterday. And guess what ? I get the phone home turn it on and the screen is really bright ! I connect it to itunes and restore it anyway just incase the brightness needed adjusting. ( It did not I assure you)
The Screen has no contrast at all, you can see the icons but the screen is so bright you have to tilt it to actually make the icons out and it is non adjustable.
I went back to the o2 shop this afternoon and also spoke with there customer services over the phone who have no idea how an iphone even works.
I am due another replacement tomorrow or Saturday .. surely it wont be three faulty handsets in a row ?
My original iphone has never let me down and I have not updated it to the 2.0 software as I am scared to, so I have had two 16GB phones and both faulty.
Surely I can not be this unlucky ? Will keep you all posted.
