I have a 3G iPod I use as a portable hard drive for all of my school work. Starting today whenever I plug it in, it mounts, but whenever iTunes tries to mount it, or whenever I double-click it in finder to access it, I get the spinny beach bally pinwheely thing and it does not stop until I actually unplug t he dock cable from the iPod.

What's odd is the second I unplug the iPod, the computer will pop up the window with my files, and then disappear, whining about unproper unmounting procedure.

So obviously it seems my stuff, but it won't mount it. Any ideas?

I ran the disk checker built into the iPod and it gave me a check. So the HDD in the iPod doesn't seem to be bad. Is there a way I can use terminal to dump my iPod's contents into a folder?
