3G.Is my speaker broken?

Question for you 3g guys. I just got mine. when music is playing, i look at the bottom of the phone, looks like a speaker on both sides of the charger plug in. 2 lil screen things. On my phone music only comes out of the left side,, when i put my finger over the right one, nothing changes, but when i put it over the left one the music is gone. Is this normal or is one of my speakers not working? can someone do this test for me?

The opening on the left is the speaker. The opening on the right is the microphone.

Don't worry, many people have thought their iPhone was defective

This was the same for the first iPhone as well.
