3G JB iOS4 cannot add Cydia Repos

Every time I try to add a Cydia repo it just sits there with the download bar full saying "Downloading Packages" If I respring then enter cydia again it sits with "Donwloading Packages" at the top of the cydia screen but the source doesn't show in sources even though it does show in the plist files
