Jail-broken of course. 4.0 GM. I have 8 apps open switching between, taking a calls while apps are open. Not one single lag.
Smooth like butter Though Wallpaper is not enabled. I don't like wallpapers on small screen, they make it see harder imo.
So, yes it works perfectly. (I never use more than 1-3 apps at a time anyway)
No lag whatsoever, not even slightly. I've been using it since last night....
So if you're not going to open 50 apps at the same time and have 3G.. go ahead jailbreak. No need to get a new Iphone just for multitasking.
