I have an apple Universal Dock with S-Video out, but cannot enable "Video Out". It seems to be disabled.

I've heard that they have found a way to block using unauthorized third party devices, but I'm not sure if that is true or not. (I understand Apple is a hardware company, but that's kind of crazy if it is true.)

Here's hoping a software update will let me use the Apple brand dock that is listed as a supported video output source with my 3G Nano.

My iPod Universal Dock (the one with the round IR receiver in the front, not the new one with the skinny IR) works fine with my new nano. It put video out to my TV via both the iPod AV cable and an s-video cable.

Not sure what's wrong with yours, you sure it's a Universal Dock and not just an old iPod photo dock?
