3g network reception...

Okay...
Say you're in a 3g compatable area. (which I am)

Would you be able to surf the web in places you normally wouldn't

Like at work they have a wireless system, but it's locked down...and our phone signals suck, because we're essentially inside a metal structure.

(I realize, metal buildings block signal strength...would the 3g help combat this?...or am I destined for a continued one bar signal strength.)

No, he's asking if 3G will mean better signal strength in areas where non-3G phones have very little to no signal.
