I have a white 3g iphone. I bought it on craigslist. AFAIK, it was purchased at the Apple Store in Peabody, MA, but I don't have the receipt, so it could have been purchased at an AT&T store.

I have an account with at&t for a blackberry, and I'm using the blackberry SIM in the iPhone 3G. It's not jailbroken or pwned or anything.

I'm not currently having any problems with my iPhone, but if I do have problems in the future will Apple help me? I remember with the first gen iPhone, you couldn't get support from Apple unless you had a valid at&T iPhone plan. Are the rules still the same?

Obviously, if I had a problem with the 3G and needed service, I could just switch to an iPhone plan to qualify (if that's necessary), but I'd like to avoid that since my firm reimburses me for the blackberry plan, but won't for the iPhone plan.

Thanks.
