3g on 4.0.1 mic not working! Help!

My iphone 3g mic is not wrking, ppl cannot hear me when im speaking to them, even if its on speaker. I can only speak to them on the headphones. Wat could b the issue? I recently updated my phone to 4.0.1 and its unlocked on another carrier (simple mobile) but i dnt think thats the issue because its been updated for over a week and the issue started last nite. Please help!!

i called apple and theyre like its hardware issue, but as happened with you, this happened after i upgraded to 4.0.1.youre saying it works when i use with headphones with a mic??? and did u talk to apple?
