3g or wifi only?

I am going to get a new ipad soon. The only thing I am wondering about is whether I should get 3g or non-3g. I already have an iphone 4 and the new ios can enable the iphone to be the wifi hotspot which mean that i can actually connect my ipad through my iphone 3g network. Any opinion?
